About our Drama School

The Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School is a not-for-profit organisation which opened in 2001 as a Prince’s Trust Business. Since then it has won multiple Business of London Awards and has a growing and solid reputation within the performing arts industry. It is not a franchise, and the principal, Anna Fiorentini and her team of teachers are involved in all branches of the school.

Whilst at the drama school, students are in classes according to their age and follow a timetable of drama / film, dance and singing. This timetable is put in place to ensure that students become all-round performers.

Alongside this, it is also proud to bring their students a brand-new training in Entrepreneurship which will impart in their student’s pragmatic business skills, an understanding of negotiating and the importance becoming a creative agency. We are not just building confident, charismatic and independent individuals, we are creating the next generation of thought-leaders.

Our guiding ethos is to provide a safe, supportive environment for young people to explore the performing arts, whether they have dreams of entering the profession or simply wish to use the performing arts classes to learn some valuable life-enhancing skills. We have an incredible team of staff who encourage team work, self-expression, confidence, communication, discipline, respect and fun. Our teaching staff are all industry professionals and bring their dynamic and unique flair to the classes, giving the students an understanding of what working as a performer is like in ‘the real world’.

We welcome all students, whether they wish to enter the performing arts industry or not, and we are very proud of the achievements that many of our students have gained through the Anna Fiorentini Agency (see details below).

We consistently receive highly positive feedback from parents who have been delighted with the increased confidence and self-assurance of their children. There has also been acknowledgement from regular schools of the positive difference they have seen in children who have enhanced their academic studies since attending our school due to an increased thirst for learning. What makes us stand out from the rest?

The Agency – Students of the school may apply to be represented by the Fiorentini Mosson Agency. The Agency has an established reputation within the industry and has received praise for the professionalism and enthusiasm of its clients. Over the years the Agency has placed some of its clients in a number of well-known productions. These include: the films Swallows & Amazons and Song for Marion, Steve McQueen’s Academy Award Winning Small Axe, West End productions of Prince of Egypt and Tina, The Tina Turner Musical, The Lion King, Matilda, Bugsy Malone, and numerous productions at the National Theatre; and TV shows Hank Zipzer, and EastEnders plus a number of music videos and commercials. And of course, there is our former student, Jermain Jackman, who went on to win The Voice UK shortly after winning our very own Fiorentini’s Got Talent.

Our teachers – the majority of our teachers are from high-profile performing arts backgrounds and have worked with the likes of the BBC, ITV, Warner Bros., The RSC and on The West End and they bring their knowledge of the industry to their classroom. Because they are working in the industry they can use their experience to guide their students who are interested in a career in performing arts. They also have a fabulous rapport with young people.

Performance Troupe – There is an opportunity for students to audition for our Performance Troupe. They meet separately once a week to rehearse routines, which are performed in various venues, including local hospitals, hospices, care homes and community events. The troupe is also available to hire for corporate events.

Extracurricular events – Students are encouraged to take part in the school’s extracurricular and social activities, such as Oscar Nights, Fiorentini’s Got Talent and various fundraising events. Students gain skills and enjoyment through participating in these opportunities.

Entrepreneurship Scheme – The school is excited to offer a brand-new entrepreneurship scheme to its students where they will be implementing ‘soft business skills’, understanding how to market themselves as a creative agency and building on the vital philosophy ‘if you don’t ask, you don’t get’. Students will be working on fundraising schemes to support the Fiorentini Foundation, helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school believes that understanding Crowdfunding, marketing and building rapport with local businesses will stand them in fantastic stead for whichever career-path they choose later in life.
