HARRISON ROSE Harrison has performed on UK Tours, on the West End and Internationally, most recently completing a season of Shakespeare – performing as Hamlet. Harrison is also a Playwright who has written for multiple scratch nights before his debut full-length play (Fox) was programmed at The Old Red Lion Theatre in London in 2017 He trained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama on the MA acting program and is a passionate and dedicated acting coach, putting his professional experience to good use.

Looking to boost confidence, trust your voice and step into the world of acting? In this two-themed acting for beginners course you will be establishing the skills from previous terms, but don’t worry if you’re new to us, because you can fit right in and understand how to take re-direction, work on scenes from contemporary plays, build characters and add new skills to your acting process including, tackling complex characters emotions, understanding intention and working on presenting place and events in a script.

Led by acclaimed producer and actor, Harrison Rose who trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and has extensive experience on the West End, International Tours and much, much more you will be in highly experienced hands.

Get ahead of the game with this innovative two-themed course where you will uncover the building blocks of the world of acting. This bespoke course for beginners will train you in professional acting techniques taught at drama schools. You could either do theme one, theme two, or both! Each of the themes have been designed to complement each other so students are encouraged to book both, though it is not compulsory.

Theme One Course Content (20th May-24th June) What do you do when you act?

  • WEEK ONE-YOU ARE A CHARACTER-Increasing self awareness and harnessing first impressions
  • WEEK TWO-THE MONOLOGUE TEST-A chance to show off and take direction
  • WEEK THREE-LETS GET PHYSICAL-Exploring uncharted physical domains
  • WEEK FOUR-VOICE/ACCENT WORK-Utilising monologues and duologues from contemporary plays
  • WEEK FIVE-FEELING SOMETHING-Understanding and applying emotion to characters
  • WEEK SIX-JUGGLING SKILLS-Applying all you have learnt in audition conditions

Theme Two Course Content (1st July-5th August) Acting Muscles

  • WEEK ONE-VIEWPOINTS WORK-An intro into process, reviewing skills and exploring Viewpoints
  • WEEK TWO-CHEKHOV-A favourite playwright of tutor Harrison Rose, you will be exploring loaded scenes
  • WEEK THREE-DEVISING-Creating work from scratch
  • WEEK FOUR-CONTEMPORARY GREATS-Working on monologues and duologues from impressive modern plays
  • WEEK FIVE-ART OF REHEARSAL-Making choices and refining work
  • WEEK SIX-SHOW OFF YOUR SKILLS-Flexing your muscles. Performing rehearsed complex characters utilising your skill base

This course will take place on Thursdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm,  20th May- 24th June (Theme one) and 1st July-5th August (Theme two). ALL profits from this course will go towards Saving the Anna Fiorentini Kids Charity Theatre School.
