Past fundraising events for the Fiorentini Foundation range from cake sales and car washes to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and running the London Marathon! No matter the event, the impact of this support is invaluable to our organisation and no amount of help is too small. Click here for some events that we are actively seeking fundraisers for.
Or, if you’re taking part in an existing event and would like to raise money for the Foundation, we use a fundraising platform called Enthuse. If you get in touch to let us know what event it is you are doing, we can send you a fundraising pack with tips on how to raise money and instructions on how to set up an Enthuse fundraising page. If you would prefer to use another fundraising platform to raise money for the Foundation, we certainly won’t turn it down. Just let us know so we can help set it up.
However you aim to fundraise, please get in touch and let us know about your plans. We can help with publicity and send you relevant information. Email us at trustees@afperformingarts.com
Did you know you can set up a Birthday Fundraiser on your Facebook page with hardly any effort and absolutely no cost to you? These were a lifeline for the charity during the pandemic.
All you need to do is head to the fundraising page on Facebook and select ‘Fiorentini Foundation’ as your chosen charity. It helps if you use the ‘invite’ button, select your friends and express that this charity is important to you and we are sure you can raise a few pennies.
No amount is too small and even more importantly, you are spreading the word about the Foundation.
A really easy way to raise free donations for the Fiorentini Foundation is by doing your online shopping through easyfundraising. If you sign up, over 6,000 shops and sites will donate to us for FREE every time you use easyfundraising to shop with them. This includes eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S.
To sign up, click here and join for free. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Fiorentini Foundation at no extra cost to you whatsoever! Or consider downloading the easyfundraising browser plugin, which will show you a popup reminder whenever you’re shopping with a participating website. There are no catches or hidden charges and Fiorentini Foundation will be really grateful for your donations.
Another way you can support the Fiorentini Foundation with your online purchases is by shopping through AmazonSmile. It offers exactly the same products and prices as the regular Amazon website. The only difference is that, when you use AmazonSmile, Amazon donates 0.5% of the net price (that excludes VAT and shipping costs) of eligible products to the charity of your choice. There’s no charge to yourself or to the charity, so everybody wins!
All you need to do is visit www.smile.amazon.co.uk and log in with your regular Amazon account, or set up a new account if you don’t have one already. Select the Fiorentini Foundation as your chosen charity (you only need to do this once) and do your shopping as you normally would. It will automatically donate to the Fiorentini Foundation. Remember you must use the Amazon Smile website to shop in order for your purchases to count. You can consider downloading a browser plugin that automatically redirects you to AmazonSmile whenever you navigate to Amazon.
We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic, talented and committed people that endorse our message to join our board of trustees. We are particularly seeking those with skills that would support our small charity, whether that be in fundraising, law, education, business management etc. We are seeking those that would enable us to make sure our organisation goes above and beyond.
We highly value our trustees as the ‘cogs behind the machine’, to help us achieve our aims and charitable objectives and decide the overall direction of our charity.
Benefits of becoming a Trustee:
Whether you want to meet new people, add volunteering and philanthropic endeavours to your C.V., or give something back, there are a vast array of benefits to becoming a trustee.
Not only do our trustees play a huge role in shaping the futures of generations to come, they also get to put their professional skills to work and boost their confidence in public speaking and leadership. Becoming a Trustee means you will gain invaluable tools and insights first-hand from other members of the board whilst discovering what happens behind-the-scenes in the management and upkeep of a charity.
If you are interested in the fantastic opportunity of joining our Board of Trustees, please email: hello@afperformingarts.com.
Support a child’s dream! We are encouraging local businesses and brands to help sponsor individual students. Your sponsorship will help to further their artistic education and you’ll be able to watch as their confidence is nurtured and their skills develop!
It costs on average £1050 per child per year to attend the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School. Sadly, some of our students simply do not have the finances cover this. Scholarships and bursaries help students access our high quality performing arts training to help increase confidence, self-esteem and transferable life skills, regardless of their financial background. Should you decide to sponsor a student, there are many different options to choose from. You could provide enough money to fund a full scholarship for a year or you could subsidise a term’s fees. Whatever the amount, the scholarship could be named after you or your company and you’d be promoted in our our external communications. We would encourage maintaining a relationship between the child and sponsor through regular progress reports, letters and updates from the child.
If you’re interested in sponsoring a student and funding scholarships and bursaries, please get in touch at hello@afperformingarts.com.
Help us put on a truly memorable and life-changing performance! We believe that children grow and develop as both artists and members of society if they are given the chance to perform in front of live audiences. Whilst we strive to keep these dreams and opportunities alive for our students, we rely greatly on external funding. Since the cost of putting on a large-scale public performance is roughly £15,000, we are always open to financial support. There are a range of ways that companies can sponsor a whole show or a particular aspect, (perhaps microphones or lighting equipment, for example). If you are interested in finding out more about our sponsoring opportunities, please e-mail hello@afperformingarts.com and help us create a performance that will propel children towards their dream.
The Anna Fiorentini Performance Troupe is the public face of the Theatre & Film School and the Fiorentini Foundation. Made up of talented students aged 11-18 years old, these performers provide entertainment for hospitals, care homes, homes for the elderly as well as corporate and fundraising events. Unfortunately, recent funding cuts and the effects of the pandemic have dramatically impacted the arts, and in turn, our Performance Troupe. To continue the mission of growing as performers whilst contributing to local neighbourhoods and communities, the Performance Troupe now must raise an annual fund of £7000. This is to help cover our Creative Director and Choreographer’s costs, venue and extra rehearsal costs, volunteer expenses, and travelling expenses for those students that may struggle with these costs.
To raise this money, we rely on the generous donations from the community and partnerships with local companies. You can make a one-off donation to help sponsor the Troupe and we would be sure to help promote your company through our external communications depending on the investment. Or if you are interested in hiring our Troupe for your corporate events or parties, we are more than happy to discuss pricing. For more details on either option, please email hello@afperformingarts.com.
Nobody likes talking about the inevitable. But wouldn’t it be amazing if you were able to have a lasting impact and contribute to the growth of a small charity which inspires and galvanizes the dreams of children?
Due to the fact we are a small charity, every single penny we receive is incredibly important and strictly allocated towards our cause. No matter how big, or small your donation, you can trust that every single penny will positively impact the life of a child who so desperately needs inspirational escapism from the arts.
In 2017, Henry Cummings passed away at the young age of 45 from terminal cancer. Henry was Anna Fiorentini’s husband’s best friend. Anna made a pledge to Henry that she would give a free place to a child suffering from, or affected by, cancer every year. Even though this was her mission, she has now superseded Henry’s wishes and helped many, many more children. She tries to raise more money each year so that even more children suffering in this way can benefit. This is called the Henry Cummings Fund. It brought tears to Henry’s eyes to know that his name would live on in such a beneficial way.
If you are interested in having a scholarship or bursary scheme named after you then please e-mail hello@afperformingarts.com.
