SHAUN BLANEY Shaun is an award-winning actor and filmmaker with a decade of experience in television,
film and theatre. In 2015 he won two best actor awards for his leading role in crime drama series Farr, from IAWTVfest LA and Dubwebfest Ireland. Screen credits include
Frankenstein Chronicles, Game of thrones and Halo:Nightfall.

People love a good baddie. Film and television throughout the years is brimming with incredible villainous performances from amazing actors. From Hannibal Lecter to the Joker and Maleficent, a good villain makes a movie worth re-watching. They challenge the hero, create the drama and say all the best lines. It’s no surprise that 2 different Jokers have taken home Oscar gold!

In this brand-new 6-week Zoom course you will be working on a mixture of Villain and hero scripts, from Marvel and Disney, but also more adult themes like Joker and Silence of the Lambs, comedy, thriller and tragedy.  Led by multi award-winning filmmaker, actor and director, Shaun Blaney (Game of Thrones, Halo: Nightfall, The Frankenstein Chronicles) immerse yourself in screen acting techniques, self-tape tricks, building believable characters, understand what agents and casting directors are looking for and how to tell a story with eye-lines.

You’ll investigate what makes these villains terrifying, looking at character motivation and on-screen performance techniques and set up to create your own versions of these iconic scenes from home. First and foremost, this class is about enjoyment and freeing yourself as an actor, so you can climb into the shoes of some of cinema and televisions most iconic villains!

  • Learn fundamental acting techniques to bring characters to life
  • Understand what casting directors and agents are looking for in self tapes
  • All acting levels welcome
  • Learn about home self-taping and what makes a good set up
  • Build your confidence working on monologues and scenes
  • Get personal feedback to improve your skills
  • Explore famous cinematic scenes of your favourite villain


Places are limited due to the nature of the course so please book early to avoid disappointment.


This course will take place online every Monday 7pm – 9pm,  8th March- 12th April.  ALL profits from this course will go towards Saving the Anna Fiorentini Kids Charity Theatre School.
