Rebecca Dyer has been performing from a very young age and she appeared in her first professional show at the age of 7, the UK Tour of Annie. She attended Bird College where she gained a First Class Honours Degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. Since graduating, Rebecca has performed as a featured dancer in the Beauty and the Beast Pantomime at Hartlepool’s Town Hall Theatre, as a dancer in Elton John’s Bennie and the Jets official music video, she also appeared in Viewpoint which recently aired for ITV.

In this upbeat and fun dance class for adults, you can expect to work on a hybrid of show tunes all designed to get your feet moving and heart pumping.

This Spring term is focused around choreography that is currently being performed on the West End Stage!

Improve your dancing skills

Our top industry professionals will help you work through fun and upbeat routines from a variety of much loved musicals. You’ll develop techniques to help you storytell through dance in these dance lessons in London. Term by term these dance classes will take you through the technique of iconic musical styles inspired by legends including Bob Fosse, Gene Kelly, and Jerome Robbins.

For this Musical Theatre Dance course, you don’t need to be the best dancer, we are just looking for a readiness to learn, energy and passion. No experience is necessary! Just the willingness to have fun and give it a go. All ages over 18 are welcome.

Course Content - Spring Term

Weekly dance classes in London will look a little like this:

SPECIFIC SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN THIS TERM: Perfect core Broadway jazz moves such as chene turns, developes and jete tourre. Learn set choreography and staging from musicals currently being performed. Variation in choreographic style from hip-hop base to tango.

  • WEEK ONE: Life is a Cabaret old chum! Join us for this West-End Cabaret workshop
  • WEEKS TWO-FOUR: Set warm up and corner work to learn key steps such as chene turns, and jive step. Working on a number from Grease
  • WEEK FIVE: Set warm up, run Grease number once. Corner work for core steps like drag runs, battement and jete tourre.  Begin El Tango De Roxanne/ Backstage Medley from Moulin Rouge
  • WEEKS SIX AND SEVEN: Set warm up, run Grease number once. Continue to perfect Moulin Rouge
  • WEEK EIGHT: Set warm up, run Grease number and Moulin Rouge once. Begin Hamilton number
  • WEEK NINE: Set warm up, run Grease number and Moulin Rouge once. Finish Hamilton number, looking at how the styles are different, more hip hop based.
  • WEEK TEN: Set warm up, run Grease number and Moulin Rogue once. Perfect Hamilton number
  • WEEK ELEVEN: Back to the Future Workshop!
  • WEEK TWELVE: Showcase/filming
