This high-octane, fun-packed dance course for adults will have you moving and finding your rhythm whilst surrounded by a brand-new group of friends. Get ready to build confidence, develop technique and revitalise your creativity. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several different genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It’s a form of dance that strives to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Our Contemporary Dance classes will teach you a fusion of techniques to build on a commercial style, whilst developing your emotional exploration, storytelling and performing skills. You will also explore your own body’s flexibility, coordination, freedom and efficiency of movement to different styles of music. Our teacher will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy every minute of this course, which will give you a great workout as well as enhancing your dance technique.
Once you have completed a couple of terms you will have the opportunity to audition for Stage & the City’s Contemporary Dance Company, giving you opportunities to perform in competitions and showcases.
Contemporary Dance Beginners takes place on Thursdays 6.45pm – 7.45pm, 19th January – 23rd March. ALL profits from this course will go towards the Fiorentini Foundation and helping disadvantaged children access the performing arts.
Or if you wish to pay in TWO instalments, please send an email to email@example.com and someone will get back to you within 48hrs to arrange.
