This high-octane, fun-packed course will have you moving and finding your rhythm whilst surrounded by a brand-new group of friends! Get ready to build confidence, develop technique and change your second left shoe to a right!
Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several different genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It’s a form of dance that strives to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Our Contemporary Dance classes will teach you a fusion of techniques to build on a commercial style. Keeping that emotional input of rhythm, storytelling and performance. You will also explore your own body’s flexibility, coordination, freedom and efficiency of movement to different styles of music.
Our teacher will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy every minute of this course, which will give you a great workout as well as enhancing your dance technique and emotional exploration.
Once you have completed a couple of terms you will have the opportunity to audition for Stage & the City’s contemporary Dance Company, giving you opportunities to perform in competitions and showcases.
Please note that as we are an adult performing arts school, any video footage or photographs taken during your class may be used on our social media for marketing and promotional purposes.
Contemporary Dance Beginners takes place on Thursdays 6.45pm – 7.45pm, 12th May 2022- 21st July. ALL profits from this course will go towards Saving the Anna Fiorentini Kids Charity Theatre School.
