Emma also founded and runs Reduced Circumstances, a theatre company committed to nurturing talent and developing new work.

Due to social distancing we have reduced all our class sizes. If any classes have to be cancelled due to COVID-19 you will get a refund for any classes unable to be delivered.

You don’t have to look far to find influences of Greek myths in our culture: from feature films to soap operas, from poetry and visual art to TV dramas and computer games; in no small part because the entire gamut of human experience is explored within its tales.

In this 12 week intensive acting course, we will visit the Greek Underworld, to devise our own contemporary tale, exploring a world in which Nature is threatened by Industry, Power is sullied by Corruption, Love is jeopardised by Fear, Faith is vulnerable to Doubt and Hope is being challenged by Despair.

Participants who have some acting experience and are looking to advance their skills, will undertake a fun and rewarding process in which they develop their physical and vocal abilities, foster their creativity and imagination, create their own performance material from different stimuli, and learn techniques on how to build believable and stimulating characters for stage and screen.

Under the highly experienced guidance of Emma you will:

Course Content:

  • Experience a full rehearsal process
  • Perform two public shows at a central London Theatre
  • Learn how to conquer performance nerves, (techniques you can apply to all areas of life!)
  • Shape your imagination and work through improvisation to create text
  • Learn how to build believable and interesting characters, using techniques evolved from a range of theatre practitioners, including Stanislavski, Strasberg, Adler and Meisner
  • Boost your confidence
  • Work as an ensemble and independently
  • Develop breath, movement and vocal techniques
  • Learn how to shape the text into narrative arcs to tell thought provoking and inspiring stories
  • Enjoy the buzz and sense of community that being part of an acting ensemble provides
  • Re-find your social life and be inspired at the same time!

This course will take place on Mondays 7pm – 9pm, 20th September- 1st December. ALL profits from this course will go towards Saving the Anna Fiorentini Kids Charity Theatre School.
