Fancy yourself as the next Frank-N-Furter? Do you want to jive like Janet Weiss?
Stage and the City, the adult branch of the award-winning Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School, is looking to recruit 20 fun-loving men and women to take part in its annual Charity Lip Sync taking place on Saturday 30th March at the Stratford Circus Arts Centre. This year’s theme is none other than the cult classic, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
You will get the chance to strut your stuff to “Sweet Transvestite” not once, but TWICE as Stage and the City are putting on two shows – at 4pm and at 7.45pm.
This year, funds raised by the Dance Battle will go towards bursaries enabling children with or affected by cancer to attend performing arts classes at the Fiorentini school. Having a creative outlet and a place to have fun can be invaluable for these children, and The Anna Fiorentini School is committed to supporting them through these means. It is also a fantastic opportunity for adults to leave behind the stresses of the office and give back to their local community!
The routines will be choreographed by Mark Short, who has choreographed artists including Tina Turner, Ant and Dec and Peter Andre to name but a few. Mark was a recent contestant on The Greatest Dancer who revealed, much to the delight of the general public, that he was one of the Bananas in Pyjamas and that the other banana was his partner Ashley who he is still together with 26 years later!
You will need to commit to raising £100 and attend two free dance workshops on Thursday 21st March and Thursday 28th March 7pm-9pm as well as the actual show day.
So, if you fancy donning some crazy costumes, thrilling your friends and letting your hair down, sign up now!
