Anti-Bullying Week: Dramatic Beating of the Bullies

According to the 2017 Annual Bullying Survey, of the young people who have been bullied in the last year, 37% developed social anxiety, 36% developed depression, 24% had suicidal thoughts, and 21% skipped class.

These are worrying statistics, and something the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School is committed to changing.

Anna Fiorentini, who has 22 years of experience working with young people, has seen the transformative effects performing arts classes have on developing confidence and self-esteem, two attributes that can help combat bullying.

Her multiple award-winning stage school, Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School, has just won a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery and the Big Lottery Fund to deliver free anti-bullying workshops to schools in Hackney and Tower Hamlets over the next 12 months. Through dance, drama, and singing, these invaluable workshops will help combat bullying and mental health issues by encouraging empathy and communication among various cultural groups. By promoting education and well-being, they will help to strengthen our emerging young community in Tower Hamlets.
